Gymnasts Come up Just Short at UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team narrowly dropped a conference dual, falling 180.475-180.225 at UW-Stout in Johnson Fieldhouse tonight.

Olivia Aschenbrenner (So.-Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton) won the balance beam with a score of 9.250. She also led Eau Claire in the all-around competition, taking third with a 36.675. Both were season-high scores.

Danielle Schulzetenberg (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) tied for first in the floor exercise, finishing with a score of 9.375, a season-best mark.

On the vault, Cece Solem (Jr.-Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) had the Blugolds' best finish as she claimed second with a career-high mark of 9.500 while Rachel Behmer (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn./West Lutheran) was second on the uneven bars with a score of 9.225.

Friday, the Blugolds will head to La Crosse for the Gershon/McLellan Invite, hosted by UW-La Crosse. Action is set to get underway at 6 p.m.
