The Blugolds were led by Molly Lattery (So.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) and Katie Moore (Jr.-Woodbury, MN) , who both shot an 83 on the day, putting them in a tie for 14th place. Allison Chomniak (Fr.-Pewaukee, WI/Arrowhead) also turned in a strong performance with an 86, a tying for 21st.

"I am happy the girls were conscious of wind conditions and that the greens were dry," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "It helped them to play smarter and keep scores lower. There were some unlucky shots and there's nothing you can do but keep your head held high and grind it out again tomorrow. The girls know what they can do and we will just keep that mindset heading into Round 2."

Eau Claire will return to the links on Sunday for round two starting at 9 a.m.
