Women's Golf Announces Team Award Winners

EAU CLAIRE, WI (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team has announced their team awards for the 2014-15 season.

Kate Engler (Sr.-Beloit, WI/F.J. Turner) earned team Most Valuable Player honors after winning the individual Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. The senior led the Blugolds in six of seven tournaments, averaging a 78.8 for the season (seven over par).

"I want to congratulate Kate Engler on her great career as a Blugold," said Head Coach Mike Greer. "She was a key contributor to the team's success this season.  We are proud of Kate for defending her individual conference title and earning All-Region honors."

The Blugold Award went to Mandi Salo (Sr.-Hermantown, WI). The senior shot an average of 85.1 for the season (13 over par).

In addition, Katy Bolduc (So.-Lake City, MN/Lincoln) and Katie Moore (So.-Woodbury, MN) were named team captains for the 2015-16 season.

The Blugolds will kick off the 2015-16 season on September 5 at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational and will host the Georgianni Memorial Blugold Invite on September 13-14.
