Women's Golf Expands Lead at WIAC Championship

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team pushed its lead to 38 strokes after round two of the 2011 WIAC Championship at Bull's Eye Country Club today.

Eau Claire, which led by 19 strokes following round one, now has 647 total strokes. UW-Stevens Point is in second with 685 while UW-Stout is in third with 691.

Currently four of the top six golfers at the championship are from Eau Claire. Catherine Wagner (Jr.-Austin, Minn.) leads the Blugolds with 159 strokes in second place. She is two strokes behind Stevens Point's Mary Welch.

The 54-hole championship will conclude tomorrow with the final 18 holes. Golfers will begin teeing off at 10 a.m.
