Blugolds win Bobby Krig Invitational

LeSUEUR, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team won the Bobby Krig Invitational on Sunday. The Blugolds shot a 593 across the two-round tournament to win the title by one stroke ahead of St. John's (Minn.).

Results

Nick Amtmann (So. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) powered the charge for the Blugolds, finishing the tournament 3 over par to tie for second place individually. He shot a 71 on Sunday. Carson Brock (Jr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) was close behind at 4 over par, good for a tie for fourth.

Cole Jahnke (Sr. - Stillwater, Minn.) tied for eighth at 9 over par following a 77 on Sunday. Owen Covey (So. - New Richmond, Wis.) tied for 22nd at 12 over par. He carded a 74 in the final round. Corey Boerner (Jr. - Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) finished tied for 25th at 13 over par.

UW-Eau Claire also had a second team in the field. Fred Moede (So. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) tied for 22nd and Connor Brown (Sr. - Racine, Wis./Union) tied for 25th. Ben Pausha (Fr. - Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) tied for 34th, Braeden Resnick (Fr. - Rice Lake, Wis.) tied for 55th and Sean Murphy (Sr. - Middleton, Wis./Waunakee) tied for 80th.

The Blugolds' final spring tournament is scheduled for April 29-30. They play at the St. John's Spring Invitational in Minnesota.
