Blugolds tie for 12th at Shoals Intercollegiate

FLORENCE, Ala. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team finished the Shoals Intercollegiate in a tie for 12th place on Tuesday at RTJ Golf Trail at the Shoals. The Blugolds rose one spot in the team standings on the final day of play.

Results

UW-Eau Claire finished with a team score of 919 at the 54-hole tournament. That was good for a tie with Berry College for 12th. Cole Jahnke (Sr. - Stillwater, Minn.) led the way with a standout third round on Tuesday. The senior carded a 69 to soar 26 spots up the leaderboard and finish tied for 27th with a three-round total of 225.

Corey Boerner (Jr. - Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) shot a 77 on Tuesday and finished tied for 56th at 233. Connor Brown (Sr. - Racine, Wis./Union) and Nick Amtmann (So. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) both tied for 60th with matching 234s. Carson Brock (Jr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) was close behind in a tie for 65th with a 235.

The Blugolds will be back on the course on April 22 and 23 at the Bobby Krig Invitational in New Prague, Minn. The invitational is the penultimate event on their spring schedule.
