Blugolds lead Bobby Krig Invitational

NEW PRAGUE, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team sits in first place following the first round of the Bobby Krig Invitational. The Blugolds carded a collective 296 to lead the field by one stroke entering the second round.

Results

The Blugolds are a tournament-best 12 over par. Carson Brock (Jr. - Onalaska, Wis./Holmen) led the way with a 72 individually, good for a tie for second place. He sits at 1 over par. Cole Jahnke (Sr. - Stillwater, Minn.) and Nick Amtmann (So. - Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) are close behind in a tie for fourth after both scoring a 73. They're both 2 over par. Corey Boerner (Jr. - Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) is tied for 35th at 78, and Oven Covey (So. - New Richmond, Minn.) is tied for 46th at 79 and 

The Blugolds also have a second team in the tournament. Fred Moede (So. - Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) is tied for 13th with a 75. Ben Pausha (Fr. - Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) is tied for 25th after carding a 77. Connor Brown (Sr. - Racine, Wis./Union) is knotted up in 35th place. Braeden Resnick (Fr. - Rice Lake, Wis.) is in a tie for 59th and Sean Murphy (Sr. - Middleton, Wis./Waunakee) is tied for 86th.

The tournament continues on Sunday.
