STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track & field team finished in fourth place out of 13 teams at the Eastbay/Pointer Invitational, hosted by UW-Stevens Point today.
The Blugolds finished with 66 points while UW-Oshkosh won with 162.5.
Emma Gray (Fr.-Roseville, Minn.) won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:11.50, just over eight seconds in front of the rest of the field.
The team of Erin Schoenfelder (Jr.-Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community), Jordanne Greenup (Sr.-Fridley, Minn.), Megan Mulligan (Fr.-Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) and Talisa Emberts (Sr.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:57.74
Greenup also had the best time in the 60-meter dash preliminaries but did not compete in the finals. She completed the race in 7.84 seconds in preliminaries while the eventual winner recorded a time of 7.86 seconds.
Next weekend the Blugolds will be in Menomonie at UW-Stout for the two-day WIAC Championship. Competition gets underway at 11 a.m. Friday and will conclude Saturday.
