RICHMOND, Va. (blugolds.com) - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Scholar All-American Team for the 2020-21 season. Out of the 789 student-athletes from Division I, II, and III, and NAIA schools, three Blugolds earned honors for the hard work and dedication in the classroom this past year.
Michael Bylander (Jr. – Baxter, MN/Brainerd), Quincy Kabe (Fr. – Buffalo, MN), and Jessica Wilson (Sr. – Brookfield, WI/Wauwatosa West), were named as Individual Scholar All-America Honorees. The three swimmers and divers from the UW-Eau Claire Swim and Dive squads were the only athletes from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) to receive the recognition.
The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship.
Both Blugold teams finished the shortened WIAC season with 4-0 records, but the Division III NCAA Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
