Five Blugolds earn CSCAA All-America honors

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The 2020-21 All-America teams for NCAA Division III, NAIA and NJCAA were announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches of America (CSCAA) on Monday with five Blugolds claiming honors.

CSCAA Release

Earning honors for the Blugolds were Jessica Wilson (Sr – Brookfield. WI/Wauwatosa West), Michael Bylander (Jr. – Baxter, MN/Brainerd), Quincy Kabe (Fr. – Buffalo, MN) Martin Kocher (So. – Saint Paul, MN/Johnson) and Ian Olson (Fr. – Chippewa Falls, WI).

Bylander earned honors in three categories (100 Back, 200 Breast, 200 IM) for his second year on the All-American list.

Wilson earned her honors for the 200-yard backstroke after posting a pool record (2:06.19) earlier in the year.

Kabe and Kocher both took All-American honors for diving. Kabe – (1 Meter Diving (2nd), 3 Meter Diving) and Kocher – (1 Meter Diving, 3 Meter Diving). This is also Kocher's second straight year on the All-American list.

Olson makes his first appearance on the list of All-Americans earning 200-yard Breaststroke (2nd Team) as a freshman.

"Swimming selections were made on the basis of verified performances in bona-fide competition submitted by their respective coaches," the CSCAA said in its press release. "Division III diving selections were conducted via a video evaluation of performances from the 2020-21 academic year."

The NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships were officially cancelled in early February, with the D3 Administrative Committee pointing to a lack of participation in winter season sports by D3 membership as the key factor in their decision.
