Blugold Wrestling Team Award Winners Announced

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Two UW-Eau Claire wrestlers were recently honored by being named recipients of five different team awards.

Sophomore Mat Rieckhoff (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) was named team MVP, hardest worker and most improved. Rieckhoff completed the season with a 30-14 record and took fourth place in the WIAC at 184 pounds. He finished with six pins on the season.

Freshman Brandon Stradel (Denmark, Wis.) was selected Rookie of the Year and was presented with the Ricky Gonzales award. Stradel took sixth place in the WIAC at 157 pounds and finished the year with a 13-26 overall record. He recorded five pins throughout the year.
