MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - For the second year in a row, UW-Eau Claire women's basketball player Hannah Mesick (Sr.-Chatfield, Minn.) has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Central Region second team.
Mesick led both the Blugolds and the WIAC in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game. Mesick also started all 26 of Eau Claire's games and averaged a team-high 8.4 rebounds each outing. In addition to earning All-Central Region honors, Mesick also made the All-WIAC first team for the second consecutive year.
Several other WIAC players earned regional honors. UW-Stevens Point's Britta Petersen was named player of the year and made the region's first team. Three other WIAC athletes earned spots on the third team roster.
The All-Central Region team honors 15 players (five on each squad) voted on by sports information directors in the region. Additional conferences eligible for the Central Region included: College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Midwest Conference, Northern Athletics Conference and St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
