The first game of the day was a thrilling 13-inning duel between the conference opponents. UW-Whitewater was able to jump out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Blugolds found a way to respond. Mikayla McEnery (So.-Savage, MN/Prior Lake) managed two RBI's in the fifth, knocking in Haley Robinson (Fr.-Hoffman Estates, IL/St. Viator) and Katie Rongstad (Jr.-Slinger, WI).

The two would remain tied all the way into the 13th inning, with neither able to get the upper hand. UW-Whitewater would finish off the game with a walk-off home run, ending the game 3-2.

Cheyenne Johnson (Jr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) was given a loss, despite allowing just one run over the course of eight innings. The loss dropped her to 6-3 on the season.

The Blugolds were unable to get their bats alive in the second game of the night, losing 4-0. The Warhawks once again jumped out to an early lead, with two runs in the first inning before adding two more in the fifth. Sarah Peka (Jr.-Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka) pitched well, but ultimately was given the loss, dropping her to 10-4 on the season.

Despite their offensive struggles, Eau Claire got two hits from Emma Lehman (Sr.-Brooklyn Park, MN/Champlin Park) and managed to get on base with three walks.

The losses dropped the Blugolds to 23-8-1 overall and 9-4-1 in conference action. They'll hope to get on track one more doubleheader at Bollinger Field against Saint Benedict (MN) on Tuesday.
