ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 25 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team has their season come to an end on Saturday as they fell to the No. 3 University of St. Thomas in the NCAA regional final.

Box Score

The Tommies took the lead early with a four-run second inning. They added a run in the third and fourth for a 6-0 advantage.

The Blugolds fought until the end and Brooke Varian (Sr.-Madison, WI/West) started the Blugold seventh with a double to right center. Allison Schultz (Sr. - Amery, WI) pinch ran for Varian and would later score on a pinch hit double by Gretchen Arneson (Jr. – Chippewa Falls, WI/Chi-Hi). However, the rally would be cut short as the Tommies would go on for the 6-1 win.

Mikayla McEnery (So.-Savage, MN/Prior Lake)

Sarah Peka (Jr. – Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka)

Cheyenne Johnson (Jr. – Poplar, WI/Northwestern)

Eau Claire wraps up the season with a 28-13-1 overall record.
