MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire softball player Emma Wishau (So.-Waterford, Wis./Union) has been named this week's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.
Wishau finished the week 2-2 as she made five appearances on the Blugolds' spring trip to Florida for the NTC Spring Games. Against No. 3-ranked Eastern Connecticut State University, she gave up just two hits and one run as the Blugolds fell 1-0, while she also pitched against Tufts University (Mass.), which is now ranked No. 25, a game the Blugolds also lost 1-0. On the final day of the trip, she allowed just three hits and gave up no runs over six innings in two games, while finishing the week giving up just 15 hits and eight runs, only four of which were earned. She had an ERA of 1.25 for the week.
