NEW ORLEANS (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams received both individual and team academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2023 season.

The Blugold men had eight individuals named Division III All-Academic Athletes: Jack Brown (Sr. - Mankato, Minn./Mankato West), Soren Johnson (Fr. - Fall Creek, Wis.), Wes Keller (So. - Richland Center, Wis.), Colin McClowry (So. - Neenah, Wis.), Mason Shea (Jr. - River Falls, Wis.), Mitch Stegeman (Sr. - Coleman, Wis./Suring), Sam Verkerke (Jr. - White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Brayden Warwick (Fr. - Chippewa Falls, Wis.). To qualify, individuals needed to have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 and have finished in the top 50 individuals in an event during the indoor season or participate at the indoor or outdoor national championships. Individuals could also be a member of a top 35 relay team during the indoor season or have been on a relay that competed at nationals.
The UW-Eau Claire men also received Division III All-Academic Team honors by posting a collective 3.38 GPA.
The Blugold women had 16 individuals named All-Academic Athletes: Kayla Behnke (So. - Appleton Wis./Kimberly), Megan Best (Sr. - Oshkosh, Wis./West), Emilee Booker (So. - Genoa City, Wis./Badger), Rachel Breu (Fr. - West De Pere, Wis.), Ayden Fleeharty (Sr. - Viola, Wis./Kickapoo), Emma Gruen (So. - Elroy, Wis./Royall), Jaryn Johannsen (Jr. - Frazee, Minn.), Teagan Jones (Jr. - Lake Zurich, Ill.), Ashley Kachurik (Sr. - Wadsworth, Ill./Warren Township), Molly Kallenbach (So. - Hudson, Wis.), Jane Kautz (Sr. - Port Washington, Wis.), Anna Schueth (Sr. - Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead), Carolyn Shult (Sr. - Augusta, Wis.), Raina Stecher (So. - Stewartville, Minn.), Evelyn Walker (So. - Madison, Wis./La Follette) and Leah Zastrow (Fr. - Spencer, Wis.).
The UW-Eau Claire women posted a 3.7 GPA to earn All-Academic Team status.
