EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The 15th-ranked UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track & field team competed at both the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational and the UW-Platteville Invitational this weekend.
At River Falls, the Blugolds primarily competed in the decathlon while most of the team was at UW-Platteville. In River Falls, the Blugolds took 10th place out of 13 teams and finished fourth out of 11 teams in Platteville.
In the decathlon at River Falls, Patrick Swanson (Jr.-Hastings, Minn.) led the Blugolds as he took third with 5,719 points.
In Platteville, the Blugolds won two events.
Thurgood Dennis (Fr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.67 seconds while Aaron Easker (Jr.-Eland, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:37.05.
As a team, the Blugolds scored 72 points in Platteville to claim fourth while UW-La Crosse won the meet with 138 points.
Next Friday, the Blugolds will compete at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge.
