OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's track and field team won the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge on Saturday while the men came in second.
The women won with 154.5 points while host UW-Oshkosh was second with 114.
Sarah Glidden (Sr. – Greenville, WI/Hortonville) and Ashleigh Buergi (Sr. – Green Bay, WI/Bay Port) went 1-2 in the 400-meter, clocking in at 57.46 and 58.07 while Ashley Agrimson's (Fr.- Peterson, MN/Rushford-Peterson) won the long jump (18-4.25).
Eau Claire dominated the shot put as JoHannah Theisen (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Regis), Erica Oawster (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) and Kassandra Lueck (So. – Nowthen, MN/Anoka) claimed the top three spots with throws of 46-2.75, 42-6.75 and 42-3.50, respectively.
In the high jump, Kylie Schuettpelz (So. – Black Creek, WI/Seymour) was second (5-3.00) while Jillian Moss (So. – Fitchburg, WI/Oregon) was third (5-1.00).
Mic Hack (Jr. – Fort Atkinson, WI) was second in the pole vault (10-11.75) and Taylor Lather (Sr. – Stillwater, MN/St. Croix Prep) finished third in the mile with a time of 5:21.26.
Kelsey Worachek (Sr. – Appleton, WI/Xavier) and Amy Chen (Fr. – Mayville, WI) finished third (7.89) and fourth (7.96) in the 60-meter while the Blugolds dominated in the 200-meter dash, claiming six of the top eight spots with Buergi and Worachek leading the way in second (25.46) and third (26.16).
For the men, the Blugolds tallied 127 points while Oshkosh was first with 162.5.
Jordan Lijewski (Fr. – Roseville, MN) won the 200-meter with a time of 22.49 while the 4x400 relay team of Aaron Zmolek (So. – Holmen, WI), KJ Munn (So. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep), Dietrich Schwoerer (So. – McFarland, WI) and Hunter Henk (So. – Beldenville, WI/River Falls) also took first place with a time of 3:17.65.
TJ Lui (So. – Dousman, WI/Kettle Moraine) won the triple jump (45-3.00) and David Kornack (Sr. – Edgar, WI) won the shot put with a throw of 56-4.00.
In the 400-meter, Schwoerer, Henk and Lijewski took second (49.94), third (50.83) and fourth (50.90), respectively.
Dylan Cooper (So. - Holmen, WI) was third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.50) while Alex Winn (So. – Kingston, WA) took third in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:23.59 and Adam Lembke (Fr. – Waukesha, WI/West) was third in the 60-meter dash (7.17) and long jump (21.-0.00).
Next up for Blugolds is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) meet on Feb. 23-24, which will be hosted by UW-Stevens Point.
