Blugolds Stay Undefeated, Improve to 12-0

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com)- The UW-Eau Claire's men's tennis squad earned another win over Macalester on Friday at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center.  This tallies 12 straight wins for the Blugolds as they extend their undefeated season.

The Blugold men's tennis team had yet another dominating match at home, defeating Macalester 8-1.  Top to bottom they had a great day, at the No. 1 singles Zach Janssen (Sr.—Green Bay, WI/ Notre Dame) defeated Sam Hochberger (MAC) 6-0, 6-1.  Then at No. 3 singles, Grant Mauthe (Jr.—Neenah, WI) won over his opponent 6-3, 6-3. 

The Blugold double's teams went undefeated on the day, starting off strong with a 8-3 win at the No. 1 doubles slots by teammates Matt Christensen (So.—Rochester, MN/ Century) and Hunter Roseth (Fr.—Lakeville, MN/ South).  The No. 3 double's partners John Foley (Fr.—Wayzata, MN) and Matt Gilbert (Jr.—Minneapolis, MN/ Washburn) won a convincing match over their opponents, 8-1. 

The Blugolds continued their hot streak yesterday at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center, tallying their 12th straight win and keeping their undefeated season alive.  The Blugold men are back in action next week at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center on March 13, 14 and 15 as they host the USTA Eye Open.
