Men's Golf Wraps up Regular Season at Edgewood Quadrangular

MIDDLETON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf completed the regular season by taking second place out of four teams at the Edgewood College Spring Quadrangular at Bishops Bay Country Club today.

Eau Claire finished with 298 strokes to claim second while UW-Stout won the tournament with 289. Edgewood College was third with 304 and Milwaukee School of Engineering was fourth with 309.

UW-Stout's Brad Wohlers and Sam Carr both paced the field with 71 strokes, one under par, but Wohlers claimed medalist honors after shooting a lower score on the back nine.

Jake Brookshaw (Sr.-River Falls, Wis.) finished in third place with 72 strokes to lead a group of eight Blugolds.

Also in the top 10 were Jimmy Hutchings (Sr.-Hudson, Wis.) and Jamie Krula (Sr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi). Both finished with 75 strokes, tying for ninth place in the 34-golfer field.

The Blugolds will now wait to find out if they are selected to compete in the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship, which will be contested May 15-18 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Selections will be announced Monday.
