MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – After leading following the second round of competition at the Twin Cities Classic, the UW-Eau Claire men's golf team fell one spot to finish in second place at Rush Creek Golf Club today.
The Blugolds, who shot 904 at the three-day tournament, were just one stroke behind the winner, Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.). Host Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was third with 910.
Leading Eau Claire was Jimmy Hutchings (Sr.-Hudson, Wis.), who finished with 223 strokes in third place. Concordia-Moorhead's Coy Papachek won medalist honors with 221.
Tim McCormick (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) finished tied for 10th with 227 strokes and Jake Brookshaw (Sr.-River Falls, Wis.) tied for 25th with 230. Coming in 27th was Jamie Krula (Sr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi) with 231 and Ben Brooks (So.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) had 233 to tie for 31st.
This was the last tournament for the Blugolds for the fall.
