Kornack, Wallace earn All-American honors at NCAA Championship

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire outdoor track and field team had another National Runner-Up on Friday, this time on the men's side with David Kornack (Jr. – Edgar, WI).

Kornack was second in the shot put with a throw of 18.49m, (60-8). The junior was also the national runner-up for the indoor season.

Also earning All-American honors on Friday was Megan Wallace (Fr. – Burlington, WI), who earned a spot on the podium in the heptathlon with 4,487 points to place eighth. Wallace took fourth in the long jump (5.41m, 17-9), 11th in the javelin (30.87m, 101-03) and 19th in the 800m (2:35.88).

In addition, Michael Amerlan (So. – Itasca, IL/Lake Park West) finished in 13th place in the decathlon with 6,250 points. Amerlan took eighth in the pole vault (4.20m, 13-9.25), 11th in the 110m hurdles (15.94), 11th in the discus (32.92m, 108-0), 13th in the javelin (45.56m, 149.06) and 16th in the 1500m (4:53.70).

Erica Oawster (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) took 14th in the shot put (13.33m, 43-9) while JoHannah Theisen (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Regis) was 19th (12.81m, 42-0.5).

KJ Munn (So. – Bayport, MN/St. Croix Prep) finished the 400m prelims with a time of 47.95 taking 12th place.
