Kornack and Glidden WIAC Athletes of the Week

MADISON,WIS.(Blugolds.com)-UW-Eau Claire men’s outdoor track athlete David Kornack (Edgar,Wis.) and women's outdoor track athlete Sarah Glidden  (Greenville,Wis./Hortonville), were both recognized as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, as announced by WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek earlier today.

Junior thrower, David Kornack won the shot put with a throw of 59-6 1/4 (18.14m) at the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 12. His performance currently ranks him first in the WIAC and in the nation in the shot put. Kornack also finished second in the discus with a toss of 154-0 (46.96m), this ranks him 4th in the WIAC and 29th nationally. 

Senior, Sarah Glidden won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 60.68 at the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 12. She leads the nation and holds the school record in this event. Glidden also anchored the first place 4x400 meter relay that finished with a time of 3:53.73. It was her first time ever running the event! The relay time ranks 5th in the nation for the 4x400. 

The men and the women outdoor track teams will compete this weekend at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse.
