Oawster named USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Field Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS (Blugolds.com) — Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Blugold Erica Oawster (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) was named the Midwest Region's Field Athlete of the Year.

Oawster is ranked first nationally in the discus with a heave of 49.85m (163-6) and third nationally in the shot put at 15.11m (49-7). She was named the WIAC Field Athlete of the Meet after winning both the shot put and discus at the conference championships and was also named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week.

Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
