Wrestling Taken Down by No. 1-Ranked UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. (blugolds.com) –The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team fell 46-0 to No. 1-ranked UW-Whitewater Thursday night in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up.

Several Blugolds had close matches against the top-ranked Warhawks. Mat Rieckhoff (Sr.-Wausau, WI)  lost by decision, 5-0 to Ryan Aprahamian at 184 while Justin Karkula (So.-Oshkosh, WI) fell by decision, 8-4 at 285.

The Blugolds (1-8, 1-1 WIAC) will have a break until January when they travel to Plymouth, WI on the 10th to take on Milwaukee School of Engineering.
