Paige Turner Named NCHA Player of the Week

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - After a weekend that featured outstanding goaltending across the NCHA footprint, UW-Eau Claire women's hockey player Paige Turner (Fr.-Iron River, Wis./Duluth East) has been selected Player of the Week for the week ending November 19.

Turner made 69 saves, allowed just three goals against rival UW-River Falls and rescued the Blugolds from a three-game conference losing streak.

In a 1-1 tie last Friday, Turner stopped 31 of 32 shots, the lone goal against coming on a UW-River Falls power play.  She made 15 saves in the opening period and three in overtime.

The following night Turner was at it again, this time making 38 saves on 40 shots to earn a 2-2 tie.  She made 10-plus saves in all three periods and tacked on three in overtime.

In her last three starts, Turner has made 100 saves and allowed just four goals against. The two points she earned for her team last weekend moved the Blugolds to 1-3-2 in NCHA play.
