Blugolds Place Third at UW-Stout Invite

HAMMOND, Wis. (www.blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team wrapped up their spring season on Saturday as they competed in the UW-Stout Spring Invite at the Pheasant Hills Golf Course. Three Blugolds placed in the top ten as UW-Eau Claire placed third out of six teams with 337 strokes.

Results

Jilli Newman (So. – Madison, Wis./Vel Phillips) led the way for the Blugolds with a 6th place finish at 11 over par. Newman led the Blugolds with 9 pars on the day and birdied once for an 18-hole total of 83. Cadie Ash (Jr. – Waupaca, Wis.) and Brianna Novak (Fr. – Red Wing, Minn.) were close behind Newman as they tied for 8th place with a pair of 84's. Ash held a team high three birdies on the day to help her stay at 12 over par.

Olivia McSorley (So. – Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East) tied for 14th place with an 86 and Keely Morehouse (Fr. – Superior, Wis.) finished tied for 18th with a round of 87.

The Blugolds finish their season with six top-5 team finishes and will await the NCAA Division III selection result son Monday, May 1st. The 2023 NCAA Division III Championship is scheduled for May 9-12 at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
