Women's basketball announces team awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball team has announced its team award winners for the 2022-23 season.

Jessie Ruden (Sr. - Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) was named the Team MVP for the season after leading the squad in scoring and minutes per game. Kylie Mogen (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.) was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year for the Blugolds after registering the most blocks on the team and the fourth-most steals.

Brianna Nelson (Jr. - Augusta, Wis./Eleva-Strum) was the Blugold Award winner. Kylie Strop (Jr. - River Falls, Wis.) is the Rookie of the Year after ranking first in minutes played among regular reserves, and Evelyn Walker (So. - Sun Prairie, Wis./La Follette) was the Most Improved Player winner after improving her year-to-year averages in nearly all statistical categories.
