Blugolds receive All-WIAC recognition

MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its women's basketball postseason honors on Wednesday. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire had two players named to the All-WIAC team, one honorable mention and another earned a spot on the All-Defensive team.

WIAC Release

Tyra Boettcher (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.) and Jessie Ruden (Sr. - Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) both earned spots on the All-WIAC team. Ruden leads the Blugolds and the conference in scoring (17.2 points per game) and steals (1.5 steals per game). She also averages two assists per contest for UW-Eau Claire. Boettcher is the team's leading rebounder with an average of 8.1 per contest, and ranks second on the team with 11.3 points per game and 1.3 steals per game.

Courtney Crouch (Sr. - White Bear Lake, Minn.) was an honorable mention for the All-WIAC squad. Crouch is the Blugolds' third-leading scorer with 9.9 points per contest and is second on the team with 2.5 assists per game. She also averages four rebounds per game.

Kylie Mogen (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.) represents the Blugolds on the All-Defensive team. Mogen averages 1.7 blocks per contest, which ranks second in the WIAC, and also averages one steal per game.

Brianna Nelson (Jr. - Augusta, Wis./Eleva-Strum) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

The Blugolds are headed to the NCAA Tournament this weekend and will play Whitman in the first round at the University of Chicago on Friday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
