Boettcher, Ruden named D3hoops.com All-Region

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball players Tyra Boettcher (Sr. - Menomonie, Wis.) and Jessie Ruden (Sr. - Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) both received All-Region honors from D3hoops.com for the 2022-23 season. They both landed on the All-Region 9 second team.

It is the second D3hoops.com All-Region award for Ruden and the first for Boettcher.

Boettcher and Ruden were the Blugolds' two leading scorers during a season in which the team reached the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. Ruden led UW-Eau Claire in scoring with 17.1 points per game and led the WIAC in scoring during the regular season. She also tallied 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.

Boettcher was the squad's leading rebounder with an average of 8.1 per contest and ranked second in the conference in that category. She also averaged 11.2 points per game — 10th in the WIAC — and 1.3 steals per game.

The Blugolds finished the campaign with a 20-9 record and participated in the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in program history. They fell in triple overtime to Whitman in the opening round of the tournament.
