They ran. Quickly up the court, quickly back down. Trading baskets in quick-draw succession.

By the time they had reached halftime, they had earned their break; and earned a lead.

Behind the scoring of Teenie Lichtfuss (Jr. Oshkosh, Wis.) and Courtney Lewis (Sr. Prairie du Chien, Wis.)—15 points and 9 points in the first half respectively—Eau Claire built an intimidating 11-point over UW-Stout by halftime.

The first half was played fast, each team trying to push the pace.

Stout claimed an early 10-6 lead, before the Blugolds ripped off a 10-point run, and never surrendered the lead.

Eau Claire started the second half hot, continuing to ride the hot hands of the first half on their way to a 66-49 victory.

Lichtfuss finished the night with a career-high 27 point. It was her third straight double digit scoring game.

Lewis recorded a double-double, her first of the season, with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while also pitching in 6 assists.

Rachel Egdorf (Sr. Michicot, Wis.) and Ellen Blacklock (So. Winona, Minn.) combined for 12 rebounds—seven and five respectively—while Abby Midtlien (So. Chaseburg, Wis.) chipped six points.

Jenni LaCroix (Fr. Verona, Wis.) also contributed, scoring five points off the bench.

The Blugolds have a week of rest before traveling to Whitewater January 14. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m.
