It was the tale of two halves for both teams as Winona State shot 52 percent compared to 23 percent for UWEC in the first half. However, the Blugolds shot 44 percent in the second half and held the Warriors to 28 percent in the final 20 minutes.

After several lead changes in the opening half, WSU rallied to take a 37-23 lead at halftime.

The Blugolds came out hot in the second half, going on a 19-0 run in a 10-minute span to take the lead, 42-40, but the lead would be short-lived and the last minutes of the game was a back-and-forth battle. An Abby Mitlein (So.-Chaseburg, WI) three-pointer gave the Blugolds a four-point advantage at 55-51 with 3:51 to play, but WSU's Connor Nagle hit a three of her own to bring the score back within one. Another Warrior three-pointer would seal the victory for WSU.

Courtney Lewis (Sr.-Prairie du Chien, WI) led all scorers with 15 points and also had a team-high eight rebounds. Kristin Sahr Sr.-Stillwater, MN) chipped in nine and recorded three steals.

Alexis Foley led the Warriors with 13 points while Kayla Timmerman had a game-high nine rebounds.

The Blugolds will host St. Norbert on Tuesday, November 25 in Zorn Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
