LEXINGTON, Ky (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team was one of 753 teams to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 season, as announced on Wednesday.

UW-Eau Claire was one of 140 Division III women's teams to receive the award, which is given to collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
As a team, the Blugolds posted a 3.49 cumulative GPA in 2014-15. The 753 total teams to receive the award is a new all-time high for the award, breaking last year's total of 687.
