Oawster earns WIAC Field Performer of the Meet honors

MADISON, Wis. - (blugolds.com) - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its award winners for the 2018 women's outdoor track & field season based on voting by the league coaches. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Erica Oawster (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) received Field Performer of the Meet recognition.

Oawster is the first Blugold to win the award after posting first-place finishes in the shot put and discus with marks of 49-7 (15.11m) and 160-2 (48.82m), respectively. Both distances established conference season bests, while the shot put performance also set a facility record. The junior is currently ranked No. 2 in the country for the shotput and in the discus.
