OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire soccer team traveled to UW-Oshkosh for another Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match-up on Saturday, with the Blugolds falling just short, 2-1.
Monica Zoellner (Jr. – East Troy, WI) put Eau Claire on the board first, scoring just 10 minutes into the game off an assist from Hannah Jacobson (Jr. – Eagan, MN).
The Titans evened the score in the 52nd minute and took the lead seven minutes later. It was a defensive battle for the rest of the game as Oshkosh came away with the win.
The Titans out-shot the Blugolds 11-9 while Mckenna Gieske (Fr. – Blaine, MN) got the start in goal, recording three saves.
The Blugolds (4-10-1, 1-4 WIAC) will be back in action Wednesday as they host UW-River Falls at 3 p.m. Follow the action on Blugold Game Day.
