MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track & field team competed at UW-Stout's Warren Bowlus Open today.
The Blugolds combined to win six events at the invite.
In the field events, two Blugolds claimed victories.
Tony Sigrist (Sr.-Byron, Minn.) won the weight throw with a distance of 64-4.5, almost four feet better than the second place finisher.
In the shot put, Joe Lilek (Sr.-Tomahawk, Wis.) won with a mark of 53-0.75 while the Blugolds took the top three places.
On the track, Tony Floyd (So.-Whitewater, Wis.) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58 seconds while Thurgood Dennis (Fr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.93 seconds.
Cody Prince (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./North) came in first in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:22.63 and Eric Pronschinske (Jr.-Arcadia, Wis.) took first in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:35.63.
Next weekend, the Blugolds will be at Stevens Point for the Pointer Invite. The two-day event gets underway Friday with the multi-events starting at 1 p.m.
