EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Dylan Glumac-Berberich (Jr. – Fridley, MN) had a career night on Friday, breaking the school record in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives as the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire swimming and diving teams swept Luther College.
Glumac-Berberich first broke the 1-meter dive last week at UW-Stevens Point, but the mark didn't last long. The junior tallied a 347.75 to reset the record and wasn't done there. In the 3-meter dive, Glumac-Berberich broke the 20-year old record held by John Karpe, a three-time national champion. Glumac-Berberich's score of 341.75 surpassed the record by an impressive 18 points.
The Blugold men beat the Norse by a score of 120-65. Winning events for Eau Claire were:

"I am pleasantly surprised how well our kids swam and dove tonight," said Head Coach Annie Ryder. "We have been training hard and preparing for our mid-season taper meet. We didn't back off at all this week and many had season-best times. They continue to work the process of training to be better than they were the week before, racing and diving tough, and being supportive teammates. They had a lot of fun on deck tonight and it showed in the pool."
The Blugolds will be right back at it on Saturday as they travel to St. Thomas University of the annual Border Battle. The first race is slated for 12:15.
