STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's swimming & diving team finished in second place out of four teams at the two-day UW-Stevens Point Invite.
UW-La Crosse won with 1,075 points while the Blugolds earned 1,001 to finish second. UW-Stevens Point was third with 994 and UW-Whitewater scored 40 points.
The Blugolds had a number of impressive performances and finished with four event victories.
Alex Card (Jr.-Prior Lake, Minn.) led the Blugolds with three wins. He took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.77 seconds and also took first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.03. In the 200-yard individual medley, Card won with a time of 1:58.44.
Nick Badilla (Appleton, Wis./North) also captured a victory with a score of 488.9 in the three-meter dive.
The Blugolds will compete in their final meet of the regular season next Saturday at UW-Whitewater. Action will get underway at 1 p.m.
