MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire men's basketball player Amadou Fofana (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./West) has been named to this week's D3hoops.com Team of the Week.

The Team of the Week is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll and is in its 14th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Fofana was selected at the center position and was among just four other players from around the nation to receive the honor.

In three games last week, Fofana went 19-for-31 (61.3 percent) from the field and scored 52 points while the Blugolds won once and lost twice, with one of the losses coming by one point. 

In a 72-52 victory over Monmouth College (Ill.) on Dec. 29, Fofana scored 10 points while pulling down four rebounds and recording one block. The next day, the Blugolds fell 69-58 to Northwestern College (Minn.) to finish as the runner-up at the 42nd UW-Eau Claire Holiday Classic. In that game, Fofana scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. On Jan. 2, Eau Claire fell just short to Stout, 88-87, but Fofana finished with 25 points and seven rebounds. He went 7-for-10 from the field and 10-for-14 from the free throw line.

For the week he had six blocks and three assists and was 13-for-19 from the free throw line (68.4 percent).
