On Friday, the team honored their award winners from the season at their year-end banquet held at Wild Ridge Golf Course.
  • Philson and Schmidt added to NWCA Division III All-Academic Team

    MANHEIM, Pa. (blugolds.com) - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its Top 30 Division III All-Academic teams and the All-Academic individuals on March 6. Seth Vosters (So.-Freedom, WI) was originally named to the 2017-18 NWCA Division III All-Academic Team. Furthermore, there were late additions to the Scholar All-American list in Cecil Philson (Sr.-Thorp, WI) and Chase Schmidt (Fr.-Rice Lake, WI).
  • Wrestling trio competes at NCAA Championships

    CLEVELAND, Ohio (blugolds.com) - The 2017-18 season for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team came to an end on Friday night at the NCAA Championships. The trio of Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI), Seth Vosters (So.-Freedom, WI), and Tyler Demo (Fr.-Loves Park, IL/Belvidere North) all competed on Friday before being eliminated from the national tournament.

    MANHEIM, Pa. (blugolds.com) - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its Top 30 Division III All-Academic teams and the top 189 All-Academic individuals on Tuesday. Among those being named to the 2017-18 NWCA Division III All-Academic Team was the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team’s Seth Vosters (So.-Freedom, WI).

(blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team had three wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in school history. On Saturday, Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI), Seth Vosters (So.-Freedom, WI), and Tyler Demo (Fr.-Loves Park, IL/Belvidere North) all finished in the top-three of their respective weight classes at the Upper Midwest Regional to advance to nationals.

    MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (blugolds.com) - The opening day of the 2018 NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional took place at Augsburg University’s Si Melby Hall on Friday. After the first day of action, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team has four wrestlers that advanced to day two of the tournament, including three semifinalists.

(blugolds.com) - The 2018 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestling Championship took place on Friday, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished tied for fourth with 100 team points. The Blugolds had eleven wrestlers finish the day on the podium, leading to that fourth place finish.

(Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s basketball player Anna Graaskamp (Eau Claire, Wis. /Memorial), gymnast Tori Erickson (Woodbury, Minn.), women’s hockey player Mariah Czech (Andover, Minn.), women’s indoor track & field thrower Erica Oawster (Lino Lakes, Minn. /Centennial), and wrestler Ramsey Bloy (Freedom, Wis. ) have each been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team hosted the 40th annual Don Parker Open on Saturday with eighteen Blugolds competing in the tournament. Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI) became the first UW-Eau Claire wrestler to take first place at the Don Parker since Joe Pitsch won the heavyweight title in 2012.

The Warhawks routed Eau Claire by a score of 36-7 as they limited the Blugolds to winning only two matches.

Bloy was the lone University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestler remaining in the tournament, and on Saturday, he went unbeaten with three victories.

On Wednesday night, the Blugolds began a streak of their own, making it two straight victories over the Pointers. They defeated Stevens Point, 28-14.
