The Prairie Wolves earned decision wins in the dual's bookend weight classes, but it was all Eau Claire in the eight matches between those losses.

Casey Hedrington (Fr.-Chippewa Falls, WI/Chi-Hi) got it started for the Blugolds with his eighth pin of the season. Then, Hunter Pierce (Fr.-Tomah, WI) dominated his way to a first period technical fall in front of a large crowd from his high school, who wrestled before the Blugolds.

Carter Focht (Sr.-Pine Springs, MN/Mahtomedi), Hunter DeLeon (So.-Anoka, MN), Tyler Vogt (Sr.-Owatonna, MN), and James Huntley (Fr.-Woodbury, MN/Stillwater) all were victorious by decision, with Huntley's coming in an exciting overtime match at 184-pounds.

Adding pinfalls were Chase Schmidt (Fr.-Rice Lake, WI) and Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI), who each secured their team-best 27th win on the season.

With the win, the Blugolds conclude their dual season with a record of 11-6 on the year.

It will be a quick turnaround for UW-Eau Claire, as they host the Don Parker Blugold Open on Saturday. Wrestling is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. from the McPhee Center.
