Bloy finishes third at Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational

WHEATON, Ill. (blugolds.com) - Wrestling on Saturday, Ramsey Bloy (Jr.-Freedom, WI) earned a third place finish at the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational. Bloy was the lone University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestler remaining in the tournament, and on Saturday, he went unbeaten with three victories.

After going 2-1 on Friday, Bloy picked up his second pinfall of the tournament in the consolation quarterfinals. In the consolation semifinals, he defeated the six-seed in Baldwin Wallace's Tyler Maclellan by a tight 3-1 decision. The junior captain concluded his successful tournament with 9-3 win in the third place match. Bloy's only loss on the weekend came to the eventual 197-pound champion, UW-La Crosse's Wesley Schultz, who was also named the tournament's most outstanding wrestler.

The Blugolds finished in the middle of the pack with 35 team points, good for an 18th place finish. They return to the mat on Wednesday night, when they take on UW-Whitewater on the road.
