Wrestlers Struggle Against 13th-Ranked Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team struggled at UW-Whitewater tonight as the Blugolds were shut out by the 13th-ranked Warhawks 44-0.

The Blugolds' best performance of the night came from the man who has been arguably their best wrestler all season – Nathaniel Behnke (Fr.-Bruce, Wis.).  The freshman was bester by Whitewater's Matt Adcock by a mere 5-3 decision. He ended a 12-match winning streak tonight as he dropped to 24-6 on the year.

Whitewater improves to 4-0 in WIAC duals this season while the Blugolds drop to 0-5.

Tomorrow, the Blugolds will compete in the UW-Whitewater Border Brawls Dual.  The other teams competing against the Blugolds will be North Central (Ill.), Manchester (Ind.), Lincoln CC (Ill.), and Olivet (Mich.). The Blugolds will face North Central at 11 a.m., Manchester at 12:30 p.m., and either Lincoln or Olivet at 3:30 p.m.
