Women's Hockey Falls in OT

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team fell to Augsburg in overtime Saturday at Hobbs Arena with a final score of 2-1.

Augsburg scored the first goal of the night on a power play with 7:33 left in the first period.

The beginning of the second period was quiet until Jaedyn Walz (So.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) tied up the score for UW- Eau Claire halfway through the second period, with assists from  Lauren Norgren (So.-Fergus Falls, MN) and  Paige Dale (Jr.-Andover, MN).

The teams started off the third period with matching penalties and a tie score of 1-1. No goals were scored and UW- Eau Claire and Augsburg headed into overtime.

Just over one minute into overtime, Augsburg scored the game-winner, giving the Blugolds their first loss of the season.

Goalie Paige Turner (Sr.-Iron River, WI/Duluth East) ended the night with a total of 24 saves.

UW- Eau Claire has their next game on November 6th at the Schwan Super Rink against Bethel University.
