Both teams hit the ice with energy after Friday night's overtime tie, and both found the back of the net in the second period.

Saint Mary's got on the board first at the 5:48 mark on a power-play. The Blugolds quickly answered with a goal of their own as Mariah Czech (Jr.-Andover, MN) scored off an assist by Lauren Norgren (So.-Fergus Falls, MN).

The Blugolds kept the puck in the Cardinal zone for most of the third period, but neither team scored, sending them into overtime for the second straight night.

However, Eau Claire started overtime on the power-play and took it to their advantage, as Danielle Lucker (Fr.-Little Canada, Min.) sunk the unassisted game-winner into the Cardinal's net at the 1:52 mark.

Paige Turner (Sr.- Iron River, Wis./Duluth East) saved 22 shots on goal for the Blugolds tonight. On the night, the Blugolds out-shot the Cardinals 33-23.

Eau Claire  (6-6-4) will be back in action Friday as they take on Hamline University (5-4-2) at Oscar Johnson Arena at 2 p.m.
