Gymnastics 5th at WIAC Championship, Stubbs Earns Scholar-Athlete Award

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team completed in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Regional (NGCA) Meet on Friday, with the Blugolds finishing fifth with a score of 186.750.

Results

Liz Stubbs (Sr.-Wayzata, MN) earned All-WIAC honors after tying for fifth on floor with a score of 9.725. In addition, Stubbs and UW-Whitewater's Hannah Lee shared the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award, which is sponsored by Badgerland Financial.

Julia Stedman (Sr.-Maplewood, MN) finished 16th in the vault with a score of 9.525 while Hannah Wendel (Fr.-Brandon, MN) was 17th, scoring 9.500.

Lauren Zurowski (So.-Greenville, WI) was the top Blugold on bars, placing ninth with a score of 9.525. On beam, Eau Claire's top finisher was Becca Wilcox (So.-Roseville, WI), finishing 13th with a score of 9.525.

UW-La Crosse won the meet with a score of 191.400.
