Gymnastics Takes Fifth at Lindenwood Invite

LINDENWOOD, Missouri (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team traveled to Missouri Friday night, finishing fifth at the Lindenwood University Invite with a score of 188.925.

Results

Oregon State University took first place with a team score of 196.350 while Lindenwood was second with 195.325, University of Bridgeport third with 194.150 and Illinois State University fourth with a 190.725.

Leading the way for the Blugolds was Julia Stedman (Sr.-Maplewood, MN/North St. Paul) who finished tied for 13th in the floor exercise with a score of 9.725. Teammate Lauren Zurowski (So.-Greenfield, WI/Whitnall) tied for 16th in the event with a score of 9.700.

Other Blugolds finishing in the top 20 were Clare Mascia (Fr.-Woodbury, MN/Convent of the Visitation) and Lauralynn Anderson (Fr.-West Bend, WI/Home school) who finished 14th and 17th on the balance beam with scores of 9.675 and 9.525, respectively.

Zurowski, Jessica Dhaene (Jr.-Stacy, MN/Forest Lake Area) and Leah Robinette (Sr.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) placed 19th, 20th and 21st in the uneven parallel bars with scores of 9.575, 9.550 and 9.500.

Eau Claire will be back in action Saturday, January 23 for a meet on the road with UW-Whitewater, UW-Stout and UW-Oshkosh starting at 4 p.m.
