Gymnasts Dominate Hamline

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team defeated Hamline University on Friday night, winning by a score of 182.850 to 179.600 at the McPhee Center.

The Blugolds turned in a clean sweep, not only winning all four events but taking first and second place in the vault, bars and floor exercise and taking the top five spots on the beam.

Julia Stedman (Sr.-Maplewood, MN/North St. Paul) led the way for the Blugolds, winning both the vault and floor exercise with scores of 9.425 and 9.350, respectively.

Tori Erickson (So.-Woodbury, MN/Woodbury) took top honors on the beam with a score of 9.525 while Jessica Dhaene (Jr.-Stacy, MN/Forest Lake Area) won the bars event with a 9.225 and Hannah Wendel (Fr.-Brandon, MN/Alexandria Area) tied Stedman for first on the vault with a score of 9.425.

The Blugolds will be back in action next Friday as they compete in the Gershon Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse at 6:30 PM.
