Chomniak leads Blugolds at WIAC Championships

REEDSBURG, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship (presented by Culver's) while Allison Chomniak (Sr. – Pewaukee, WI/Arrowhead) placed fifth overall.

The Blugolds recorded a team score of 341 on Sunday to bring their three-round total to 1,019 (+155) while UW-Whitewater took the team title with a three-round score of 942 (+78).

Chomniak's 77 moved her up from a tie for 6th into fifth place overall with a score of 235.

Jessica Rudnicki (So. – Sun Prairie, WI) turned in a score of 83 on Sunday to finish tied for 13th (243) while Anna Uzpen (So. - Osceola, WI) moved up two spots to finish tied for 34th after shooting an 87 (266).

Abbie Ter Maat (Jr. - Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) moved up from tied for 53rd to tied for 50th (94, 285) and Monica Cucunato's (Fr. – Kenosha, WI/Bradford) tallied a 105 on Sunday to finish tied for 53rd (286).

The Championship wraps up the fall season for the Blugolds. Eau Claire will start the spring season April 13-14 at the Spring Fling in Normal, Ill.
