The Blugolds turned in a team score of 336 on Monday to finish with an overall score of 677. Gustavus Adolphus won the invitational with a team score of 665.

"It felt good to be somewhat on our home turf," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "We tried to use that to our advantage to take home a win but I think the women worked hard to finish second. The Blugolds just have to work a little harder this season to take home a first place trophy."

Chomniak, who led the field with a 76 on Sunday, shot an 86 on Monday for an overall score of 162. Gustie Mae Meirerhenry took top honors with a 157.

"I was happy with my five pars to finish the front nine for a 41," said Chomniak. "I need to stay focused and keep the positive thoughts going into round two. I just wanted to play my game and not try to outdo myself. I'm not disappointed with finishing second but happy with how I finished out."

Molly Lattery (Jr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) and Meghan Lange (Jr.-Green Bay, WI/Southwest) also had top 10 finishes for Eau Claire. Lattery, who started the day tied for ninth, moved her way up to a fourth place finish with an overall score of 169. Lange finished just behind her, tying for fifth with a 170.

Next up for the Blugolds is the Division III Classic on September 17-18 at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.
